The club was founded in 1992 by Tom Menard and Jim Kelly to promote and encourage the sport of fencing and to provide instruction and facilities to prepare fencers and would-be fencers for both recreational and competitive fencing in all three weapons: foil, saber, and epee.

Membership is open to anyone within the age categories as defined by the Age Rules for National Tournaments & Championships as published by the United States Fencing Association on its annual Fencing Calendar and who has successfully completed a basic course in fencing or can demonstrate an equivalent competency.
